“Zack Walsh as Leaf Coneybear was an absolute delight, with the innocence and wonder of a baby bird. Walsh is all things loveable as the wide-eyed, unlikely participant who qualifies for the Bee through a series of conflicts with the top two winners. He sings “I’m Not That Smart” with light-hearted self-deprecation that makes you want to scoop him up and bearhug confidence into him.”

“Walsh has a strong and bold singing sound which really compliments the number “Damn It, Janet!” Of course that ridiculous number, “Once In a While” (which was cut from the film for a reason!) actually sounds halfway decent when Walsh tackles it. It’s a terrible number, but Walsh makes it palatable.”

“Zack Walsh (who will soon direct his first feature film, Prosperity Creek), as Bob Cratchit, channeled his inner Jim Croce in “Silent Night.” Walsh brought weariness and anxiety to his role as the overworked, underpaid Cratchit.”

“Zack Walsh as Bob Cratchit has an intriguing face and timbre of voice of which he uses both to evoke great sympathy and later horror as father to Young Tim. I hope to see more of his work.”
